Hi, I'm Curtis Jones, Jr.
Curtis Jones Jr. is the representative for the 4th District of Philadelphia, which includes several neighborhoods in the city. He has earned the trust, loyalty, and respect of his constituents and colleagues, having served as Majority Leader from 2012 to 2016. Currently, in his third term, he chairs the Committees on Public Safety, Commerce & Economic Development, and serves as the Vice Chair for Parks & Recreation & Cultural Affairs. Jones is a champion for education, criminal justice reform, and the environment. He has introduced major pieces of legislation, including the Philadelphia Home Rule Charter change, amendments to the "Ban the Box" legislation, the "CVN Bill", and the partnership with the School District of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Eid Coalition. Jones has also collaborated on the Witness Intimidation Law and the Philadelphia Mortgage Diversion Program. He is a noted expert on community-based economic development and has served on numerous boards and executive committees, including the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission and the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority's Minority Advisory Committee. Jones has also lectured extensively on economics and community development and is a recipient of numerous community and industry awards. He holds a degree from the University of Pennsylvania's Fels School of Government and has completed studies at Boston University and the University of Alabama.
